Thruster System of compressed Nitrogen gas.

Picture

The attitude control of the spacecraft "Vostok" was possible due to 16 thrusters that worked on the principles of thrust of pressurized Nitrogen gas. The gas was filled prelaunch into 12 spherical tanks "the string of pearls"at 150 ATM (2200 psia). Before the point of exit through the thruster this pressure was reduced to 4 ATM  (59 psia).

In each of the two sections of 8 there were 2 thrusters each for pitch and yaw and 4 for roll. Manual control from the cosmonaut was available on Vostok-1, but was not performed until the Vostok-2 mission.
